DR. RICARDO P. PAMA
A native of San Enrique in the province of Iloilo, the Philippines, Prof. Dr. Pama has over 50 years experience in teaching, research and academic administration. He finished his BS Civil Engineering degree from the Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines, Master of Engineering, major in Structural Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand and Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of St. Andrews, the oldest university in Scotland founded in 1411.
Prior to joining the AIT on a full-time basis in 1970, he served as lecturer and research fellow at the University of St. Andrews becoming the first Asian ever to teach in this university. His successful career at the AIT started when he served as Assistant Professor, then Associate Professor and eventually as full Professor. After eight years of teaching, he was appointed as Vice President for Development, becoming the youngest Asian appointed to this post. He was responsible for establishing strategic partnerships with governments, international organizations, businesses and foundations worldwide which resulted to a total of US$250 million in grants and donation to AIT. He also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs of AIT prior to his early retirement from the institute in 1996.
In recognition of his outstanding accomplishments as an engineer educator and administrator, he became deserving recipient of the following awards and decorations: Henry Adams Award from the Institution of Structural Engineers, London, in 1969, given for his meritorious research, thereby becoming the first and only Filipino engineer to receive this prestigious award; L' Orde des Palmes Academique (Order of the Academic Palm which was instituted by Napoleon Bonaparte) from the Republic of France in 1986; Banaag Award from President Corazon C. Aquino in 1991, which is given to outstanding Filipino professionals residing overseas; the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Mapua in 1991 and from AIT in 1996 and the AIT Hall of Fame Award in 2010.
A prolific writer, he authored and co- authored three books and over one hundred (100) scientific and research papers which have been published internationally. He also founded the International Ferrocement Information Center at AIT in 1976.
He took early retirement from AIT in 1996 and returned to his homeland to be of service to his countrymen .He worked for a while as President and Consultant of Schema Konsult, a private engineering firm in Manila. In 1999, he took up the challenge of turning the Baguio Colleges Foundation into a university which he accomplished in four and a half years. This college is now the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City, an autonomous institution with three Centers of Excellence in Criminology, Information Technology and Teachers Education. It is also noted for its strong programs in Criminal Justice Education and Law.
In 2004, he was invited by Angeles University Foundation to be its third President. This university is now the best private university in Central Luzon. Based on the number of programs declared centers of excellence and centers of development by the Commission on Higher Education ( CHED), it is ranked number 12 in the country. He retired from this university in 2009.
To his surprise, he was again invited to take his old post as President of the University of the Cordilleras in late 2009 and served this university for another five years. Finally, in 2014 he retired as university president after completing 50 years of service in the field of Academe.
In his retirement, Prof. Dr. Pama continues his services to his country by serving the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) under the Office of the President, as Chairman of the Technical Panel for Engineering and Technology.
At the invitation of the President of AUAP,he accepted to be the Secretary General of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific ( AUAP), in 2015. He believes that the AUAP can play a vital role in preparing many institutions of higher learning in the Asia-Pacific region to become centers of excellence, which he believes is an appropriate honor and distinction for higher education institutions to attain, to be worthy of welcoming the Golden Century of Asia and the Pacific !

The Executive Secretary of the AUAP, Ms. Supaporn Chuangchid, has been with the core that established the AUAP being the Executive Secretary to the Director of the Center for International Affairs, Suranaree University, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand in 1993. Subsequently, her Director, Prof. Dr. Ruben Umaly, became the founding Secretary General of the AUAP and with the Founding President of the AUAP, Prof. Dr. Wichit Srisa-an, being the very person who had also established Suranaree University in Nakhon Ratchasima. The rest is history. Since then she has directly organized or co-organized numerous projects and collaborations with higher education institutions in Southeast Asia and different organizations worldwide most notably in Europe. To date, she has 41 international conferences on her resume, numerous AUAP Student Competitions and Global Leadership Programs and there is more to come with AUAP’s growing collaborative endeavours. Her academic background includes studies in Mass Communications, & Diplomacy and International Studies.

DR. KYUNG-YONG KIM

Brief Introduction of Dr. Kyung-Yong Kim, Daegu Health college , Korea
Dr. kim is working as professor of English and director of Global Education Center at Daegu health College in Korea. He earned his Ph.D. in TESOL at New York University (NKU), USA. While living in New York for six years, he taught ESL at Herricks middle School and ASPEC Language Institute. He used to work as a publicity chair for the 2001 KOTESOL conference. His research interests include cross-cultural communication, interlanguage pragmatics, and second language acquisition. He has dedicated to the development of international affairs for the last 15 years at Daegu Health College. His major achievements are related to such work as faculty/student exchange program, global leadership camp, global internship, and student jobs abroad. He was awarded by Deputy Prime Minister of Korean Education for the excellence of global program management in 2012. Currently, he is taking the position of AUAP (Association of University of Asia and the Pacific) Country Chapter Chair of Korea.

Dr.Leon Ramos Jr.

Dr. Leon R. Ramos Jr. is the Country Chapter Chair of AUAP in the Philippines.
Currently, he is the Executive Director, Global Engagement Office (GEO) of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), Batangas, Philippines.
Previously, he was Executive Director, Linkages and International Affairs (LAIA) of the same university where he has been a very active faculty member since 1997.
Throughout the years, he has chaired LPU Batangas departments of Social Science & Education, Director of LIMah, LINK, CBS/JPLM Center for Bats Studies and Museum at Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), Batangas, Philippines.
He holds key positions in the following organizations;
University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP), International Federation for Social Science Organization (IFSSO) and several other more.
He holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Management and Leadership,
Master of Arts in Teaching Social Sciences/Eco and International Diplomacy.
